Hi list,
there were no answers to my question from the list, however in the
meantime I was successful and found a solution. So here I'll document it
for other users:
- We migrated the Samba server (with existing LDAP-accounts) to a new
server.
- After that migration "domain root" didn't have full access to the
local clients any more (we'll have to work on that problem).
- As a workaround I logged on to the XP-client as administrator,
connected as "domain root" and so was able to install the drivers on the
server.
- Logging on to the XP-client as domain root was necessary to assign the
drivers to the printers.
Hope this description will help anybody in the future from investing
days to find a possible solution.
Best
Joachim
