[Samba] Quark Express 4.1 Saving problems

Hi all,

Has anyone had any problems with quarkexpress 4.1 running on windows 
2000 saving to a samba share?  It will modify and save existing files 
fine but when you create a new file it complains about i/o errors when 
you try to save things.  Is it just too outdated to play with a samba 
server properly or is there an option in the config which might sort 
things out?
