[Samba] problem with samba 2.2.4

Hi ,

I installed samba 2.2.4. I downloaded it from samba.org as a binary
package. While i am starting it gave me the errors as under.

  ERROR: Samba cannot create a SAM SID.
[2002/07/17 10:12:30, 0] smbd/server.c:(707)
  smbd version 2.2.4 started.

  Failed to open /usr/local/samba/private/secrets.tdb

  ERROR: Samba cannot create a SAM SID.



did anyone has the idea where the problem and what can be done to fix it.
