Evening,
I am having problems getting printing working via samba. I have
been working with samba versions 2.2.0a (Suse RPM), and source versions
2.2.2 and 2.2.3. In each case - I am fully able to browse the /home
shares / other file shares - without any problems. I am also able to
ping/smbclient -L / nmblookup all machines (as per the various
trouble-shooting docs). I have tried this using both the lprng and cups
printing configurations. (In each case - I have been able to print using
lpr and view the queues via lpq.)
when I try to print using smbspool from the local machine - it
just hangs - smbstatus shows up w/ it being spooled - remote w2k machines
will show a print job added to the queue - but nothing is printed nor is
anything logged.
when i try to print from any of the w2k machines - i can't. when
i browse to the printers page via windwos explorer - the log.machinename
shows up w/ :

(Note: this is the 2.2.3 version - some of the others i seem to recall
having slight variations)
I would be delighted to have any leads on where i should continue hunting.
I am driving myself nuts trying to poor through these debug logs.
