[Samba] Mozilla browser

Hi,

I have connected to the Internet but I can't browse anything further than my local drives, with Mozilla on Linux 8.0, even after configuring the proxy. http://myproxy.xx.yy.    8080 (I tried with or without the https://prefix)

I shouldn't need a proxy to reach my ISP at least, but I can't. Is there anything special in configuring this browser?
My ISP guys aren't that familiar with it either: IE or Netscape on Windows only, it seems.

Any help is appreciated.
