Samba just doesn't work with XP

Well the file sharing does work (except I can't get guest access
to work), but printing doesn't with smb 2.2.1a. Tried every
combination of options, every security option, every printing
option. Read the docs a dozen times. Rebooted 100 times.
Examined the logs continously. Just
does'nt work. I don't claim to be a Samba expert, but I did
have it working  with an older samba version and Win 98.

Can anyone give me some plain instructions on getting
a plain Win XP install to work with a plain Samba 2.2.1a
that has password-free printing and guest directory sharing?
