Along with enabling encrypted passwords in smb.conf,
if you are in security = user mode (the default, if you
don't have a security = somethingelse in your smb.conf file)
you will need to add the usernames that you are trying to
login to samba from into the smbpasswd file, and set the
smbpasswd password to match what your pc user is using.
See the "Using Samba" chapter 6 for details on how to use
the smbpasswd command to do this.

the linux m/c from win2k n/w nhbrhood, i get the
message:
the account is not authorised to log in from this
station.
what could be the problem ?
