pioch at netscape.com (Nicolas Pioch) quotes cNally Dermot as saying:
> A particular file (size 1300 bytes) is stored on a remote drive (to the test
> workstation) which belongs to a real NT 4 Server (either SP3 or SP4). Copying the
> file straight to a Samba share results in a file of the correct size, but filled with

On Solaris, with the Sun compiler, make sure you're not
using sunos4/bsd compatability libraries at the same time as normal
ones.
This sometimes happens when your search and library paths include
/usr/ucblib... With gcc, I have no knowlege.
