'Added interface..' lines in log file

Hi all,
We have samba (v1.9.16p10) configured to use 5 interfaces. Although
this is no problem, and everything is working correctly, our log files
are becoming full of the
Added interface ip=a.b.c.d bcast=a.b.c.255 nmask=255.255.255.0
..type of lines (in groups of five - one for each interface).
Actually, the log file for our main server contains over 900000 lines,
of which only 4000 or so are *not* the above line. This obviously
makes it a bit more tricky to check the log file (other than using
grep -v, of course)
So, my questions are as follows:
(1) Why does it write these lines to the log file (i.e. how often does
it happen and what triggers it off)?
(2) Does this signify some kind of problem that has gone unnoticed?
(3) Do I want to stop it doing this and, if so, how?
(4) On a more general note, is there any documentation around that
will give more detailed information on the samba log files?
Thanks
