Hello SAMBA team,
I've installed and setup a samba server 2.2.8 from binary's and following install instructions on a:
OpenVMS V7.2-1 on node WINDE1
>From windows NT. with service pack 3 I can see the node WINDE1, but when I try and access the machine authentication always fails, no matter who simple and open I make the smb.conf file.
I've even tried setting up a guest user, encryption on, I've setup a new smbpasswd file, then changing the password using the smbpasswd.exe program. But nothing seems to work.
Anyone can give me a clue pleeeeeeeeeeeeseee help!
My SMB.CONF file looks like:
[global]
workgroup = SIMPLE
security = user
browsable = yes
encrypt passwords = yes
smb passwd file = /samba/private/smbpasswd
[homes]
guest ok = no
browseble = no
[test]
comment = For testing only, please
path = /export/samba/test
public = yes
The only errors I can find are below, but I've no idea how to solve them.
cheers in advance to anyone who can help...................
