2 GB limit?

Hi,

I think you're likely seeing the limit Samba can handle due to
limitations in the CRTL - until recently (though I don't recall in which
specific version of OVMS that limit was increased). FWIW, the latest
release of Advanced Server for OpenVMS (v7.3A ECO2) should handle up to
4GB.

HTH,

Paul

The error only happens after copying 2 gigs of the file, not immediatly.
The file can be copied fine to another windows or linux box.

The disk on my PC has not the capacity of creating a file bigger than
2Gb, so I can't easily try that and eventually fix it.

I can try to find another PC with more disk space, but before that I
would like to have more details about it :

- You have probably already tested that, but is this 2Gb limit specific
to the VMS Samba server ? I mean : the huge file you can't copy to VMS,
can you copy it to another Windows box ?

- When trying to copy to VMS, does the error appear immediately (or
within a couple of seconds), or does it come after copying 2 Gbytes ?

Thanks.
