ABOUT VFSWRAP_STAT()

Hi friends, 
The doubt is related to the samba vfswrap_stat() function....
when i am priting the filename in vfswrap_stat() using a DEBUG macro, 
then i find strage entries in the log file.

I typed edit filename.txt on client (win2K) machine.

file names like *, EDIT*, EDIT, EDIT.pif, ~xxx.tmp etc...

can anybody tell me the reason behind this? or any explanation regarding
this?
