(FAQ?) samba box not seen by PCs

If be 'see', you mean Network Neighbourhood, you should try mapping a
network drive by right-clicking on 'My Computer' and selecting 'Map
Network Drive'. Browsing (NetHood) doesn't always work under an NT only
environment.
