Most of current documentation, including man pages are automatically generated from SGML version of them. So if you want to translate man pages, please translate SGML documents of Samba 2.2 series under docs/docbook/manpages. * And would you please not to send me a HTML mails... ----- TAKAHASHI, Motonobu(monyo) monyo@samba.org Samba Team - http://samba.org/ Samba-JP - http://www.samba.gr.jp/ JWNTUG - http://www.jwntug.or.jp/ Analog-JP - http://www.jp.analog.cx/ MCSE(NT40,W2K), SCNA, CCNA, Turbo-CI From jerry at samba.org Thu Dec 6 07:46:23 2001 From: jerry at samba.org (Gerald (Jerry) Carter) Date: Fri Feb 13 23:41:26 2004 Subject: docs sync'd between SAMBA_2_2 and HEAD Message-ID: FYI... For everyone interested in documenting HEAD or SAMBA_2_2 (sounds funny saying that out loud), I have just sync'd the docs/ directory between the two trees. Due to the changes going on and the amount of documentation that Andrew B. owes me :), we will now maintain separate docs branches. Please submit all patches and specify the branch. Trying to map a drive via Win2000 explorer Message-ID: <20011213111125.BBBM12575.mta04.onebox.com@onebox.com> Hi, I'm pretty new to Samba et al. (Version 2.2.2) and a little wet behind the ears! Basically what I'm trying to achieve is that I would like to map a drive (eg. Z drive) on my Windows2000 PC (NT domain) to a user/directory on my UNIX box (Tru64 UNIX v5.1A), so that it looks like a 'local' directory within Windows explorer (readable and write-able only by ME). (No printing services required) My UNIX machine is called hobbit and I have one (non-root) user called bilbo added to the /etc/passwd file with /usr/users/bilbo as the home directory. What are the steps required for me to achieve this? I've tried doing a "map network drive" from explorer: //hobbit/bilbo. The connection is refused when I enter the correct password (for user bilbo[?]). Many thanks and Regards, MB. __________________________________________________ FREE voicemail, email, and fax...all in one place. Jaipur). In our LAN , Novell Netware 4.10 server is used for authentication and as file server. When we run Linux unfortunately we can not use that server as fie server. Being a Linux Hobbyist I thought of SAMBA so that when working on windows we may also see our linux home files. My problem is that Linux machines see the Samba server but windows clients using client for microsoft networks can't. Please help. Would I have to change everytime the machines client mode (client for microsoft networks from client for seeing the SAMBA server in network neghborhood or net view). _________________________________________________________________ MSN Photos is the easiest way to share and print your photos: http://photos.msn.com/support/worldwide.aspx From stephenh at Medscheme.co.za Sat Dec 29 12:12:19 2001 From: stephenh at Medscheme.co.za (Stephen Hughes) Date: Fri Feb 13 23:41:26 2004 Subject: Performance docs Message-ID: <6591C30B219ED4118A0400004C71516CBEFA0F@ZABRYC02> Hi I'm looking for any Documentation on performance tuning between a Unix HP-UX 10.20 and a Win98 machine.
