Precisely.  And this is more and more important as people adopt tools
such as ccache and distcc.  It's sad that all the work you did to
integrate cpp into gcc can't be used by these tools, but they offer
such amazing speed ups to developers in general that we shouldn't just
ignore them.  ON the contrary: we should make every reasonable effort
to make sure they don't produce results that might be regarded as
incorrect.
