[Samba] missing sam.ldb file

It doesn't seem to be used at all:

root at dc3:/var/lib/samba/private/sam.ldb.d# lsof sam.ldb
root at dc3:/var/lib/samba/private/sam.ldb.d#
(samba is running, of course)

I guess now that it has to be an accidental copy from 
"/var/lib/samba/private/sam.ldb"?

Or could it have some use..?
