Except trusts maybe?

I have the following setup:
_ 2 Samba 3.6 DC running domain A;
_ 2 Windows DC running domain B.

Currently, I have a two-way trust between the two domains.
If I understand it correctly, this won't be possible with 4.x.
So, am I stuck with (soon to be EOLed) 3.6?
