for a Domain Controller there is a generic rule of thumb: a DC is a DC is a
DC. Same rule of thumb for Windows and for Samba servers here by the way :-)

Seriously: On a Samba 4 DC you can use winbind but winbind is not needed at
all. If you follow the rule of thumb that you have no other services except for
the DC functionality on that machine, then you can just leave the UIDs from
Samba unresolved and not plug winbind into nss or pam. You will see the UIDs
only on the sysvol/netlogon share in the filesystem anyway.

All other functionality like file/print/whatever you should put on a different
(non DC) machine and there you will have the winbind(3) configuration where you
will also find a lot of examples for.
