>From your XP client, are you sure it's resolving the symbolic name correctly? Is it using WINS and not DNS? Does the client have the correct domain/workgroup configuration? Does the host appear in "net view" ? Do you have %SystemRoot%\system32\drivers\etc\hosts ? Do you have %SystemRoot%\system32\drivers\etc\lmhosts ?
