Bug https://bugzilla.samba.org/show_bug.cgi?id=4090 was filed, and marked
fixed, without actually being fixed.
https://bugzilla.samba.org/show_bug.cgi?id=3815 likely related was filed over
18 months ago and remains open. See comment 22 there.

Then there are really antique bugs still open from smbfs that probably should
be converted to CIFS:

Doesn't seem like filing more bugs would help when the already filed ones
don't get fixed or don't get fixed right.
