[Samba] Error creating machine account logs: Unable to open new log file /var/log/samba/machinename.log Permission denied

This problem doesn't seem to affect the client's connectivity but I am not
sure if it signals a larger problem.  I started noticing this error:

Unable to open new log file /var/log/samba/"machine".log Permission denied

 in the logs after upgrading to Samba version 3.0.21b.  Any ideas?
