I am trying to setup a a samba machine as a PDC. There are no windows
domains on the network. I just want to startup as a samba PDC so users
can login change there passwords access shares and printers.
I am running on redhat es 4
with samba version 3.0.10.-1.4E

It appears to be working but I can't seem to join a computer to the
domain. I am joining a windows 2000 pro machine. I am getting the error
"Your computer could not be joined to the domain because the following
error has occured:
Logon failure: unkown user name of bad password"

Now I am able to browse to that machine via network neighborhood as
root(the username used above)and gain access to the shares I have setup.
So samba is running and that username is working as a smaba user but its
not able to be used to join a machine to the domain.

I have run
net groupmap modify ntgroup="Domain Admins" unixgroup=wheel

Any ideas? on where to start looking?
