[Samba] smbd (3.0.20pre2) crashes at startup

Could you try the latest SAMBA_3_0 svn tree
(svn co svn://svnanon.samba.org/samba/branches/SAMBA_3_0 samba_3_0)
and see if that is any better.  I have fixed some upgrade
issues.  I'll look back over that printer code and see if I
see anything.  What version of gcc is this ?
