[Samba] School project

For a class project I need to figure out what needs to be added to a level 2 linux 1.1 to support operation of samba (2.0.x). The base installation only has network service. I have copied over the samba files from an existing installation and addded two needed /lib files but am unsure what else is needed. I know password and encription support files are most likely needed as well. Any thoughts ??
