You could have checked the archive!!!
smbmount uses smbfs != samba
smbmount //MACHINE/SERVICE /mountpoint \
-o username=...,password=...,iocharset=iso8859-1,codepage=850
should do the trick. or try mount.cifs
tip: man:mount
