I'm been working on this actually.  Could you test 3.0.6rc2 ?
I'm never been able to reproduce this locally.

Nope.  it's not a tdb corruption or ghosted entries as far as I can tell.
If you remove the tdb then all the SMB job information is gone as well.
It needs to be persistent.

See the 'deleteprinter command' rather than just removing them from 
smb.conf.
