[Samba] New in Samba

You can have a guest share on the samba machine, as follows:

[global]
 guest account = ftp
 security = share

[public]
        comment = Public Stuff
        path = /some/public/place
        guest ok = yes


Just make sure you have a user ftp on the samba server.
