[Samba] monitoring Samba with Tivoli

Hi all,

A large customer wants to monitor the availability of Samba using Tivoli.
My first guess is to wrap nmblookup and smbclient in some scripts.
Anyone has done this and can provide some example ?

Or is there some other clever way to do this job ?
