[Samba] latest samba version compatibility

Hi,
 
Currently we have samba 2.0.7 installed on HP workstation 10.20. Like to 
enquiry if the latest samba version 2.2.8a (which fixs the security issue) 

is compatible on HP Workstation version 10.20 ? Have read the readme file 
for 2.2.8a which only mentioned installing on HP 11.0 and 11i.
