[Samba] Configuration error

I am getting this error in the client log file.  Why.
  Error : UNIX and SMB uids in password files do not match for user
'walliske'!
[2002/03/22 07:03:48, 0] smbd/password.c:(513)
I am running samba on HP-UX 11.00 and the client is a standalone w2k laptop.

Here is a copy of my smb.config file
  [global]
           workgroup = UNIX
           netbios name = AMBER
           security = SERVER
           encrypt passwords = Yes
           map to guest = Bad Password
           username map = /etc/opt/samba/user.map
           log file = /usr/local/samba/log.%m
           preferred master = Yes
           domain master = Yes

   [data]
           path = /data
           writeable = Yes

   [printers]
           path = /tmp/spool
           printable = Yes
I have created a map file and used smbpasswd to change users password to
match unix and w2k.
