Hello.
I'm running RH 7.3 and samba 2.2.4-2, and I always get this repeatedly in
the log files:
Jun 16 11:49:20 server01 nmbd[6968]: [2002/06/16 11:49:20, 0]
nmbd/nmbd_packets.c:process_browse_packet(1062)
Jun 16 11:49:20 server01 nmbd[6968]: process_browse_packet: Discarding
datagram from IP <IP#> Source name SERVER01<00> is one of our names !
Jun 16 12:01:20 server01 nmbd[6968]: [2002/06/16 12:01:20, 0]
nmbd/nmbd_packets.c:process_browse_packet(1062)
Jun 16 12:01:20 server01 nmbd[6968]: process_browse_packet: Discarding
datagram from IP <IP#> Source name SERVER01<00> is one of our names !
Jun 16 12:01:20 server01 nmbd[6968]: [2002/06/16 12:01:20, 0]
nmbd/nmbd_packets.c:process_browse_packet(1062)
How do I prevent this? This FILLS my logs all the time.
PS. <IP#> is a replacement for the actual IP of the machine. The machine
has two NICs in it, and is also functioning as our router, using iptables.
Thanks,
Aton
