Can you set up a 'panic action' in your smb.conf?
Somthing like 'panic action = /bin/sleep 9000' does nicely - then attach
with a debugger. Get a stack backtrace (bt full) and mail it back to
the list.
You will get a much more information if you recompile, and use
./configure --enable-debug
Also, you might want to try out the just released 2.2.5 version, as it
may have already been fixed. (The backtrace might still be useful in
any case).
