[Samba] configuration

Hi

I have just set up a samba server; my problem is that I cannot access the 
server from my windows 98 network neighbourhood,
the name of the server is listed, but when clicked on it I get \\station is 
not accessible.

When I ping the IP nos (192.168.1.254) of the server i get a response, but 
when i ping the server name (station) i  get unknown host station.

Please help.
