[Samba] Cannot join Win2k with Samba+LDAP PDC

I cannot join a Win2k machine to the Samba LDAP PDC. Have added a root 
account in ldap added the machine in /etc/passwd and added the machine 
via smbpasswd but to no avail. I have turned up logging to level 3 and 
can't find anything. Below are the following errors.:

On Win2k PC : Logon Failure: unknown user or bad password

Samba LDAP PDC: Jul  2 14:54:24 devel smbd[19074]:   No user to modify!


Please help. (pleeeease)
