[Samba] smbd is not coming up

hi all
I have installed samba-2.2.2 on ultra 10 solaris 2.6
box and its working fine. 
I copied the same tar file to e420  solaris 2.6 and
installed in the same proc smbd and nmbd doesnt come
up.
later i got another samba-2.2.1 on installing this on
E420 nmbd came up but not smbd..
Plesae let me know what could the possible reasons for
this. do reply as soon as possible coz my whole work
is caught with this.
