automatically setting up printer drivers on clients (new style)

Thanks for the help, Jerry. I got it working... But I'm also curious
about the "add printer command" setting in smb.conf. I've got to write
a script to add the printer? How would I approach that? I haven't
found any info out there on how to write an add printer script. I'm
using raw queues in cups to install the printers on my computer.

If anyone's interested, here's exactly what I was doing wrong... My
problems were probable rooted in the fact that I haven't used this stuff
on Windows before :)

this is what was happening...

- Browse to \\psnc9600\printers
- right click a printer and click "properties"
- a message pops up that says
"Device settings cannot be displayed. The driver for the specified
printer is not installed. Only spooler properties will be displayed.
Do you want to install driver now? Yes No
- I select "yes" and the "Add Printer Driver Wizard pops up
- I install drivers for my HP LaserJet IIISi. It looks like they go to
c:\winnt\system32\spool\drivers\W32x86
- After drivers are installed, the properties box pops up.
- I click the sharing tab and click additional drivers
- I select "Intel Windows NT 4.0 or 2000," there is "No" in the
installed column
- I click OK and it says "Unable to install the Intel, Windows NT 4.0 or
2000 driver. Operation could not be completed.
- I click OK and close the printer properties box
- If I right click the printer and select properties again, the message
about no drivers being installed pops up again "Device settings...."

What you should do is install the printer on your computer and them
access the share dialogue from there... Not by browsing to it. I
originally installed the drivers from a 2k box, and I did have a little
trouble adding different drivers. I ended up installing the printer on
a NT4 box and adding the NT4 drivers from there. Everything works great
now.
