password sync

I am not able to sync passwords (smbpasswd and /etc/passwd). RH7 + SMB
2.2.x

passwd chat = *Changing*password*for*user*%u*\n*New*UNIX*password:* %n\n
*Retype*new*UNIX*password:* %n\n *passwd:*all*authenticat
ion*tokens*updated*successfully*\n

Any ideas?

Users are logging into the samba server as a PDC.
