[Samba] file locking in samba

Hello

Does samba perform any file locking?
I have several Windows computers copying their big (40G) files onto
a UNIX server. These files are later processed with a daemon which I
am writing.
I need to know someway whether a file is comletely copied or not, so if
samba, while copying, locks it the problem is solved. Otherwise ...
any ideas?
