Becouse that is not how this list works - consider the volume!  If
everbody who posted was required to subscribe, a *lot* of people would
find it all a bit too much.

As I is, the listmaster does what he can to keep the right balance
between occasional spam (and really, the delete key isn't that hard to
find) and legitimate postings.
