[Samba] usernames with spaces

Hello,
 
I am moving from a NT environment to a RH one.  
My main problem is the user home directories.
 
The users and homedir are create with a space in them: '<first>
<lastname>'
 
 I have to create 'John Doe' shares with 'John Doe' as the user.
When a user try to connect to his homeshare, he is prompted for the
user/password pair and his unable to use them.
 
Did someone solved this ?
