[Samba] permissions managing

Hi,

here is my network system:
PDC: NT4.0 server
workstations: NT/2000
fileserver: Linux + SaMBa

Does anybody know how to manage the fileserver files permissions from 
client workstations?
I can have the rights management box, but it can't update file permissions.
even if have domain administrator privileges

any idea?
