SWAT requests a password

You probably don't have a pam config file for Samba.

Create the file 

/etc/pam.d/samba

and put these lines in it:

auth    required        /lib/security/pam_pwdb.so nullok shadow
account required        /lib/security/pam_pwdb.so

Then try agin.
