file character changed

hi, there,
I have samba server on linux and access it from win2000, if there was a file ended with </body></html>, on linux, I see normal file, all characters are correct, but on window shared folder, whatever editor I used, always see </body></html> body></html>, or </body></html> ??dy></html>, anyway, it will duplicate a part of last several words, especially when I edit a file and save it,  what is wrong? is it because of samba server or because of hub, or because of network cable, but on linux, every thing is right.
