ERror trying to configure samba on HP

I think you will need to install the GNU compiler and libraries (I had the same
problem initially)

DON'T know if you can help,
When trying to configure samba on

a hp system-   HP-UX mafasd6 B.10.20 E 9000/811 2004995322
I get following error

checking configure summary
ERROR: No locking available. Running Samba would be unsafe
configure: error: summary failure. Aborting config

Any ideas please

I ran ./configure command in source directory
