Mike, i was a bit too quick to reply that it worked, so i apologize for
this follow-up then.

After following the instructions (using v2.0.6):

	smbpasswd -j DOMAIN -r PDC
	(successfully joined)

	smb.conf:
		security = domain
		password server = PDC BDC
		encrypt passwords = yes

	restart smbd and nmbd

I still can not get it to authenticate against the NT server. Users who
are logged into the NT domain on Win95 b/c and NT 4.0 get prompted for a
password when trying to print through the samba server, same as before
with security = server.

am i missing a step? are there any weird configs that won't quite work?
checking my logs, it shows they are still failing over to the guest
account, and the authentication against the NT domain isn't being
displayed.

any information is greatly appreciated. Thanx!
