Anika,
Hi; it turns out that AS/U from HP is not able to act as a password server
for Samba, if samba is in domain mode; this is an issue with AS/U, not
samba. It WILL work if you change from domain to server level security on
samba, and specify the AS/U server as the password server. I hope I read
your message right - the PDC for the domain you are trying to join is
actually HP ASU server, not an actual NT PDC, right?
Hope this helps,
Don

Subject: smbpasswd -j DOMÄNE

Hello

this is my first e-mail here, so please excuse my bad english!

After adding the NetBIOS-Name of the Samba server to the NT domain i
stopped all Samba daemons and run the command:

smbpasswd -j DAEMON -r PDC

The reaction is:

modify_trust_password: machine x.x.x.x rejected the session setup. Error
was: code 131
2000/12/13: change_trust_account_password: Failed to change password for
domain x.

Is there anyone who knows this problem?

We use Samba 2.0.3 and a NT PDC (HP-UX with AdvancedServer).

Thanky you very much for your answers.
