Starting nmbd/smbd - to script or to use InetD

  You actually should have asked this question in the samba at samba.org
mailing list: samba-technical is about developing new version of 
Samba.

  However, it's generally true that the script code is the
most used, and is the most debugged.  Solaris 7 & 8 seem to
have intermittant trouble with samba under inetd.
