Joining an NT domain

I am trying to get my Samba Server to join our NT Domain. The command I use
is:

smbpasswd -j <domain> -r <pdc>

When I look in server manager on the NT side it says that "The format of the
specified network name is invalid."

Here is a copy of my smb.conf. What am I doing wrong?

        workgroup = I2
        netbios name = MOON
        interfaces = 10.16.113.140/24
        security = DOMAIN
        encrypt passwords = Yes
        local master = No
        wins server = 10.20.3.2

[/tmp]
        comment = test share
        path = /tmp
        read only = No
        guest ok = Yes
