Connect without NetBIOS name using smbclient?

I have one server, which is accessed over Intranet using IP address/share
name from WinNT4.0. It runs without any problems. I have no idea, what
NetBIOS name this server has.

Unfortunately, it doesn't work with smbclient. It insists on having NetBIOS
name, and any attempt fails with suggestion to use another name :))

Is it possible?
