Still Having Problems With Password Authentication for 1.9.18p7

I'm having problems still with password authentication for 1.9.18p7. Samba
only recognizes the root password only!!!! I thought password authentication
was fixed in version 1.9.18p5. Anyway, here's output of the problems I'm
facing:

After starting smb and nmb using root's ID the following test was successful:

3 root at Sun-E3000:/usr/local/samba/private ==> smbclient -L sun-e3000
Added interface ip=207.21.123.4 bcast=207.21.123.255 nmask=255.255.255.0

Here's a sample output of my test using my UID:

You might find the -U, -W or -n options useful
Sometimes you have to use `-n USERNAME' (particularly with OS/2)
Some servers also insist on uppercase-only passwords

(NOTICE "username=WWINZER". WWINZER IS IN UPPERCASE, NOT LOWERCASE!)

Last, my log.wwinzer file:

71 wwinzer at Sun-E3000:/usr/local/samba/var ==> cat log.wwinzer

I've tried both the standard UNIX password as well as smbpassword format with no
luck.

I'm stumped. Can someone help solve this issue? I do not want any users with
the ability
to log into samba shares as root!!!!!!

If there's anything wrong with my config file please state the error if this is
in reference
to the password authentication problem. I did run testparms with absolutely no
errors.

- Thanks In Advance.
